Where I stayed
Jaanikese puhkekeskus
Today was our longest daily trip - 81km. We left Otepää 9.00, enjoying long downhill rides and some long uphills as well. I made my max speed record (so far) today, 52km/h with full cycle bags. Our motel was in Jaanikese, which is a road 5-6km away from Valga in the middle of nowhere. The motel was ok, but pretty overpriced - the room was small and costed 64 EUR, plus we had to pay 20 EUR for sauna.
Next morning we decided to sleep for a bit longer because of pretty long trip from Otepää, so instead of 7.00 the alarm clock rang at 7.40. Our hostess had made the breakfast just for two of us and she kept bringing more food to our table as we started to eat. The breafast included: bread, butter, jam, ham, cheese, tomatoes, rice porridge, corn flakes, yougurt, omlett with ham and tomatoes, orange Juice, tea and coffee. Food was good and it was plenty of it.
We left Jaanikese motel with a bit mixed feelings. The service was great, but the location and quality level of the motel itself and it's room didn't quite justify the price, which was higher than in our guesthouse in Tartu and in Otepää.
