...would be so helpful in determining what goes with what when it comes to packing electronics and all their lifelines. It's much easier to find something created in a shrieking color than to sort through black cord after black cord, trying to make certain every component needed is present.

I guess, being an artist, color just seems like a logical solution. I like that Apple's cords are all white, which makes them easy to spot and identify quickly. Bless also those manufacturers who have printed their name somewhere on the cord or plug - helpful.

I'm not sure if bread tags would work; some of the cords are thin. Maybe those little colored dot stickers - like those used for garage sales - might. I've tried the velcro strips, as well as using folded-over labels on the cords with a printed description, and while they help quite a bit (the labels tend to rip and/or get gummy and fall off anyway), still not convinced either is the solution I'm satisfied with.

Part of my problem is, I need to label stuff right as I get it so I don't hose myself going through cord after cord, looking at the ends and trying to guess where it belongs.

Guess in the interim, it's baggies, until there's time to do some online research.

I suppose I should quit ranting, suck it up, and finish packing.

 Anyone else have any ideas?

The color spot thing is a good idea. Use nail polish instead of gummed stickers, maybe?
