Hoje saímos cedinho de La Paz e fomos visitar as ruínas de um sítio arqueológico dos Tiwanaku, uma civilização muito antiga que se instalou nesta região, milhares de anos antes de Cristo. Almoçámos na cidade com o mesmo nome e depois seguimos para Copacabana onde nos instalámos para passar a noite. Para informação, esta é a Copacabana "orginial". Para resumir a história, a estátua da Virgem de Copacabana foi transportada por mar até ao Brasil. Após sobreviver a uma tempestade no mar, os navegadores chegaram a uma praia do Brasil, à qual deram o nome de Copacabana por agradecimento à Virgem, que supostamente, os teria salvo.

We left La Paz early today and went to visit the archeological ruins of the Tiwanaku, an ancient civilization that lived in this region, thousands of years before Christ. We had lunch in town and hit the road to Copacabana where we'll spend the night. For information, this is the original Copacabana (considering the one in Brasil). Long story short, the Virgin of Copacabana was transported by sea to Brazil. After surviving a storm, the navigators arrived at a beach in Brazil, which they named Copacabana to honour the Virgin that, suposely, had saved them.
