Today, we decided to go into the rain forest after we found out that the local swimming hole trail was still very wet and slippery after all the rain they have had over the past few days. Maybe another day we can check that out as long as it does not rain anymore.  Once we finally got into the rain forest, we stopped at the visitors center. This was nothing amazing but did have a few good views. Then we started our adventure up the mountain. The roads are very curvy. I do not know how Nathan has handled all the other crazy drivers but he seems to be getting used to it.  While going up the mountain we stopped a few places on the side of the road to take some pictures.  After going around a quarter of the way up the mountain, we stopped and decided to take on a trail going to La Mina Falls. Once we got to the bottom of the trail, there was an amazing waterfall. Nathan got in the water right next to the falls. It was so beautiful walking around. But it was here we had a bad idea, we decided not to go back the way we came but up the other side of the fall. What we did not know is that the trail we went up lead us at least a mile down the road from where are car was parked. So, after hiking we had another hike back to the car. And this hike was on the road, which was kind of scary when a car would go by. After getting back to the car, we were starving. So we decided to go to a little restaurant that we had just walked past that was smelling very good. We both decided to get cheese burgers, I know very puerto rican, but they asked us if we wanted them El Yunque style. We said "yes" and we were very glad we did. The burgers were delicious! Since we got some energy from the burgers and the rest, we decided to head to the top of the mountain. We drove up as far as we could, the last part of the road was closed, then started to hike again. I thought we were going to have to turn back a couple of times because of me not Nathan. But we kept on going and finally made it to the top where there was a tower and you could see all around. It was so amazing. The breeze was cool but very nice after the hike. The view was well worth the hike up there. After coming back down from the top of the mountain, we headed home. We stopped and took pictures at La Coca Falls on the way down. It was very beautiful as well. Then we came back to the hotel and decided we would go out to dinner and find some puerto rican food. We ended up going to Don Pepe's. The food was good. We both got chicken dishes. I got rice and beans as my side. They were delicious. Tomorrow, we made reservations to go sailing and snorkeling. I hope it will be a good time. We will let you know!
