Where I stayed
Yesterday my friend Lena gave me a proper tour of the "Niman" sois and boutique shopping. We had a great lunch at the vegetarian buffet garden restaurant Khun Churn. Afterwards I visited Brian too at their lovely Chiang Mai home. Tonight I met Bob and Carol from Chiang Mai and the Upper Valley. We had a lovely dinner in the Rimping Village Hotel Garden Restaurant and then attended an "early music" vocal holiday concert at the Sacred Heart Chiang Mai Cathedral. I enjoy the food and setting at the Rimping Village Restaurant and I really enjoyed this evening!
Oh there is always something interesting to do in Chiang Mai.
I am back in Chiang Mai. I like the lovely Sakorn Resident where I am staying. It is quiet and just a 5 minute walk to the area of the Riverside and Good View restaurants. I found this brand new daily or long stay building with internet, wireless and a pool, on Agoda. I am so glad I took a chance on it. The staff is happy to have guests and they are very helpful and friendly. My room is spacious with all amenities and has a good shower! The restaurant serves a good breakfast (included) and there is a coffee shop too. If you are a traveler who wants to be in the center of things with everything just steps out of the door, you may not like this location. I actually prefer this side of the river and the quiet soi. I like to walk and bicycle and the reception will call a songtheaw or tuk tuk too. There is a new computer for our complimentary use in the lobby and the wireless works in the rooms! The Sakorn Resident has only been open 2 months and it is the best value I have had in Chiang Mai for the excellent room and atmosphere
