Be sure to look at the OLPCMAP, it's really great! http://olpcmap.net/
We had exciting status reports about the growing points on the MAP. Marina showed us new icons appearing in Russia, even while we were working. We discussed strategies for informing kids and teachers around the world about the OlpcMAP. And we looked at countries that we know have XOs but don't yet have presence on the Map.
To FB or not to FB? After a long and peppered discussion Nick created the OlpcMAP Facebook pagehttp://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/OlpcMAP/126840500716047
Fresh air and exercise was big on the host's (me) agenda! We had a bright sunny day with tons of snow. Without snowshoes, the un-tracked snow is up to my knees! Nick is an athlete hiding. He had never snowshoed before and took right to it. After running UP the biggest hill, Adam donned snow-shoes and took off for an impressive distance. We wondered if he would be back, but no worries, hot cider and good food beckened.
The team gave me a great book, David Macaulay's Building BIG. Thank you Adam, Nick and Marina for the great gift! It's what we are attempting to do for the Map and OLPC. Build BIG and spread the OLPC Mission throughout the world. Be sure to check out the newly designed website! http://one.laptop.org/
Adam, the day retreat was a wonderful idea. We had a healthy, fun productive volunteer day!
