Last Thursday was a highlight of my months of learning and volunteering with OLPC. I had the opportunity to visit the OLPC main offices in Cambridge, MA. It was a working visit. I was meeting Adam Holt to test and pick up the 10 contributors XOs to bring to the VVV in Vietnam.

Adam wears many hats at OLPC and rarely takes a day or night off. He inspires, mentors, and coordinates the support gang volunteers that answer the many questions OLPC receives daily. He directs the Contributors Program  which recycles gently used XOs to further the reach of the OLPC mission. And, he does lots more. That the Vung Vieng Fishing Village Laptop Project is happening, is in large part, due to Adam's enthusiasm, encouragement and patience. Thank you Adam!

In case you are wondering what an XO is, it is the laptop designed by and for OLPC, designed especially for children and for use with free, open source software. I tested and inventoried 11 XO laptops and packed them in my trusty EMS rolling dufflebag for the first leg of their trip. The XOs are in Hanover, NH.

I leave soon for Bangkok, Thailand with my precious cargo. After a rest there, VVV here we come!
