Hello!
We are in Peru! We arrived safely in Lima and Rafael picked us up from the airport. We are staying with his family in a beautiful house, very typical of Peru. I had a great surprise, they have a dog, a Chihuaha!!!!! Macuha, very small and funny as I like them to be. even Nick stands him, he does not even try to drop kick him as I would expect!
Rafael took us on a ride around Lima and I was amazed to see how quickly we would arrive in the desert, big sand dunes and hot! We stopped to visit Pachacamac ruins, temple of the sun. Our first ruins of the trip...many more to come!
We went out for food quite a lot as it appeared and we soon confirmed that Peruvian food is great and tasty! From the Cerviche (marinated fish) to the characuta (grilled cow heart)to their delicious very special fruits and juices (lucuma, granarilla) and many others that I will never be able to eat anywhere else but here.
Today we visited Lima town center and the Cathedral of St Francois d Assises with its catacumbs. We walked a bit around and came back home to chill out = play with Macuha.
It{s funny but what really stands out for us in Lima is that driving in Lima is similar to Marrakesh (without donkeys crossing the road). The horn is their best friend!
Tonight we are trying to book a bus ticket to go to Huaraz in the mountains, let{s see where we will end up!
Adios and pura vida always!

hello lima.......
