Ola!
We left la Fortuna for Monteverde a more mountainy and cold area where cows and horses covered beautiful green hills.
We stayed in a nice hostal where again the Ticos owners were wonderful and helped us choosing the best activities as there are so many to do in this area.
First we went on a suspended bridges tour in the cloud forest, it was great and we saw animals and plants. The cloud forest is different from the rain forests we had visited previously, as there is a continuous misty rain [la bruine]. So was even greener than what we'd seen before.
Then went to visit a place called the Frog Pond, where we got to see... frogs... including the famous red eyed tree frog. Pretty cool little things!
Following day, went for a horse ride in the hills around monteverde, through fincas (farms / fermes), forests and canyons... was really beautiful... much more like europe than other places we'd been too, but with a costa rican touch.
And finished by visiting the San Luis waterfalls, which again were amazing. Both went for a swim and flirted with hypothermia as water was incredibly freezing, but was a cool experience.
Otherwise, spent time chilling out and hanging out with our american and german friends!
Next stop Manuel Antonio, which supposedly has the most beautiful beaches in Costa Rica and one of the best national parks! should be good!
Thats it for now! will be in touch soon!
Suerte,
Audrey & Nick

Annita
