Now we have settled down, I thought I would give a quick overview of Iran! We only spent two weeks driving through Iran due to a 15 day visa however the experience was excellent. Never did we ever feel in danger and were always a focus of attetion, the people are very friendly and genuine, every body wants to take you home for tea. Due to driving a replica Chitty Chitty Bang Bang the responce was overwhelming and sometimes dangerous because so manny people, cars, motorbikes and children trying to see, touch and photograph us and Chitty, Tourists are very rare! Iran is a vast country and nothing much between the towns but the scenary is breath taking in its on way. Having stayed with a family in thier home I can say they are polite, helpful and will do anything for you. The food was interesting! At grass roots level people costantly ask us "what do we think of Iran"? we are friendly arn't we! "yes" we say. They are very concious of the western view of them. When we arrived in Dubai somebody in Iran had written on a sticker on the back of Chitty " Dear English People, we Love you, love Iran "
