pukkelpop was so awesome! so many bands so little time... the smashing pumpkins headlined the friday nite, it was my first time seeing them, so it was great to see them, but even kalin and everett admitted that it wasn't as great of a show as they are capable of... gogolbordelo was incredible... music awesome and their stage presence... man, they are out of control!!! i love it... rodrigues y gabriella blew the audience away as usual! they are just such talented guitarists!! silverchair sucked... they really should have just renamed their band, cause they are nothing like they used to be... i mostly wanted to see them out of nostalgia, and unfortunately was dissapointed... oh well... NIN and TOOL shared the headlining on saturday nite... NIN was amazing... it was such a good set... TOOL kinda lacked.. but then again it was late and i was pretty tired... Henry Rollins did a 2 hour spoken word in the evening which was so wikked... not the kinda thing you would expect at a music festival but the place was packed! everyone loved it...
the festival grounds were pretty massive.. 8 stages in total i think and tons of food vendors and drink stands... they even had a shisha area where you could just lounge around in hammacks and chill... nice way to spend the afternoon when there was a lull in bands...
the camp grounds were solid tent to tent... hardly any space in between or room for hanging out really... no campfires allowed, but some people had coleman stoves and disposable bbq's... we squeezed into a small area and even managed to have a grassy knook to sit... at nite we crammed the 3 of us in my little 2 person tent... and really, the 2 person tent is a one person comfortable tent, 2 person cozy tent, and a 3 person overflowing tent.... all i have to say is that its a good thing we are good friends and know each other well....
