Creativity at its best, look what you can make when bizarre heads come together. Located in the oldest part of Sydney the Village Bizarre festival tantalises every sense.

From gorgeous smelling food stalls selling everything from Moroccan spiced lamb kebabs, Turkish breads (which is such a huge craze in Australia by the way), churros (still yet to try but advised this small cup on offer was nothing like the real deal at an official churros place so decided to save that till later...I imagine there quite similar to Spanish donuts at the sole anyway so have already kinda made my mind up that they cant be better).

The other stalls are a treat for the eyes and my little buddy is drawn to some handmade eye sleep masks, she ums and ahs over the charactetures and as much as I want to her to buy the koala one, she says she will get bored of it...even though it will be onto of her face while she's sleeping. Beautiful rings, leather necklaces and gorgeous vintage tea dresses which are well out of my price range....I decide to spend my dollars on food today.

The first activity we embark on is an in the street Michael Jackson dance class. We start shyly, but soon our handbags are thrown on the floor, cardigans off and were all in....shame! It’s hilarious, and once you start dancing I don’t feel like an idiot at all. This could have come in handy before Halloween. We moonwalk, pelvis shake and grab our bits...not looking as sexy as the dance teacher in her disco pants but we make a good go of it.

After pulling ourselves through the stalls like a shire horse the next stop...Hoola Town And oh my god I haven’t had this much fun since I was five years old. The hoop feels like a long lost friend. And as I whiz it round I realise I’m actually pretty good, so I start to turn as I spin the hoop around me! Aha I'm doing a trick......I turn whilst hoolaring and the hoop follows, this attracts the attention of the Hoola teacher and she come’s over to try to teach me a new one. I may have found my new forte!

Rach gets her shoes shined by a traditional Morrocan shoe shiner, See how the festival lives up to it’s name? Then we decide to take a go at the Silent Disco, throw away all of our inhibitions and get our grove on in front of all the passers by.

Finishing off with a gigantic meatball turkish wrap...Putting my regular meatball marinara subway to shame...We head to a nice bar at the top of the rocks for a night cap....Followed by a bottle of wine that somebody abandons on the table...Were quite sure that they weren’t planning on coming back for it!

A real fun quirky, spontaneous night :)
