Everyone is dancing around the kitchen, to Brazilian music that makes it impossible not to wiggle your hips, its all go go go on the hobs, the Italians with their pasta, Brazilians with their steaks. Then its Korean guys turn for the music from his country...yesterday, all my trouble seems so far away. Which after living with him for a while I will eventually find out is one of two songs in his repertoire.

Our Columbian housemate informs us as usual, in her bedtime routine at 7.30 every evening 'I go take a chower'.

Later the Italian teaches the Korean to play the guitar, as he strums triumphantly, the Italian tells him ‘no gently, imagine you are stroking the legs of a women’ (not at that time did I know that he later would...and that those legs would be mine!)

Ah the multicultural house...brings me back to the days of the German, Iranian, Australian and English household...sounding like the beginnings of a joke that really was one of the happiest houses I have ever lived in. Our big Chinese house, with Asian style inside and outside kitchen. And our little pet gecko Clive. How we would sit on our balcony of an evening, can of  ...in hand chatting each about the opinions from four points of the globe.

It makes me so happy to be part of an International house once again. As the English Girls it is our job to write a word of the day on a post it and stick it to the wall, The request was of some slang words that will make them sound extra knowledgeable when speaking with native speakers...so far the wall dictionary includes...Lush, squidge, ditto and tantalizing...(not slang but picked up from Rach sharing a page of 50 shades darker).

And I will pick up some Italian...As usual mostly bad words...which is a shame but actually for a language like Italian these words are quite regularly used :)

House 1/1 international household in Australia...I look forward to many more combinations, with so much to learn from so many different people from all walks of life, with conflicting opinions, crazy ideas and different styles of partying :)
