found a nice wee pub for a Guinness and cider, and home to relax. Easy town to find our way.....
decided to go to the Inishowen Peninsular, and to Malin Head, Irelands most northerly point...we were lucky to have a good day and so the views were amazing....and could see Tory Island..
Tried to find the Bocan Stone Circle, and in the meantime found some fascinating areas, on various narrow roads, lots of atone fences, peat being dug, and took too many photos....and still no stone circle. had lunch in a nice wee pub. seafood Chowder, and Tuna Melts...yum....
Found Kinnego Bay by accident, not many signs around here....just beautiful...but still no rocks, back through Muff a small border village on the border of Donegal and Derry...Lots of old Pagan worship sites in these areas.... Almost back in Londonderry, and of course in Northern Ireland....then back across to Burt, and yeah have found the sign to Grianan of Aileach that we missed on the way...This is a stone fort built on the site of the original 1700BC ring fort. High on a hilltop 800 feet above sea level.this ancient fort looks out over the waters of Lough Swilly, with views of Inch Island, and pan aroma views of Counties Derry, Donegal, Tyrone and Antrim.
Interesting as have just been looking up the Lindsay name, and original family came from this area, a town called, St.Johnston. We will have to have a look before we leave this area.

This ring fort is quite amazing, and once again special to be standing on the top of it, and down in the centre on the ground level..The walls were 4 to 5 metres thick with tunnels in the walls that we cannot get to see, though there are entrances.... So very old though, and reconstructed in the 1800's
From the Bronze ages...lots of photos again...
31st.....
You would think we would be sick of the scenery but today raining so decided to go to Dunfanaghy, and Falcarragh, Glenveagh National Park and Glenveagh Castle., and as usual we were blown away..... It is just so very beautiful, and so different from the day before....
Mountains, coastline, and found some sunshine too.....more photos....The castle grounds and gardens were beautiful too. Four birds of prey, chained...a snowy owl, a tawny owl, and two eagles....
all alongside Lough Deagh. all the signs today have been mainly in Gaelic.
last day in this area.....and then head slowly south, along the west coast...
