News Flash. We have extended our return flights by a few days. This now gives us a week after we return from our liveaboard so we can recover and continue enjoying the incredible wildlife. We have decided not to visit Isabela Island.....a real shame, but the ferry is fairly expensive, accommodation seems more expensive and it would appear that the only difference are the flamingoes. I'm not sure we have made the right decision, but time will tell. I guess that now that we have extended our flights, then we can always visit Isabela after our liveaboard if we bump into someone who says " you MUST go there!! "
So today we visited the beautiful Tortuga Bay once again. There are actually two beaches here, the main beach is long and wide with pounding surf and very strong currents and not safe for swimming. The second beach which is just round the corner is basically a lagoon with mangrove plants around it and it's perfect for swimming, relaxing and watching the occasional blue footed boobie hunting for food. It's a pretty long walk from the centre of town, about an hour or so, and there's not much shade until you reach the second beach. The alternative is to take the water taxi there for $15 per person. Useful to know if you've got cash to splash.
Anyway, once again the wildlife was very obliging, posing for us in the most perfect positions. Hope you guys aren't getting bored of the animals....mental note to self, must get more pictures of Kev and myself!!!
