DOMINIQUE HERE:
Day : 315
Temperature : 30 degrees
Weather : Still sunny!
Well, we've had four or five days of total relaxation on the beach. It's been bliss. We've done absolutely nothing, other than eat, drink and lie on the beach. Much to Kevin's delight we have managed to download another gazillion movies to watch, and we have had the chance to catch up with our fellow travelling amigos through the wonders of skype....and hopefully we will be catching up in the Galapagos in a couple of weeks time. Fingers crossed.
I don't think they get many western tourists here, since we haven't seen any other travellers....which is great! The staff at the hotel think seem to that our attempts at speaking Spanish are quite simply hilarious, and it's caused them much amusement watching us try to decifer the menu each day for lunch and dinner. Thankfull, the online Spanish translation websites have come in handy when trying to ask for an Indian chicken curry for dinner....(blame Kev, not me!!!)....and yes, we know it's not your typical Peruvian fare, and no it didn't come as a surprise that they were not able to make a Chicken Balti for us!!!!!
So two new travelling pieces of news for you..
1. Our plans are coming together for our Colombian / Amazon adventure with Fi (Ozzie chick whom we met in Rarotonga at Christmas). Fi is coming out to visit us in Bogota, and from there we will have a month-ish in northern Colombia before flying down to Leticia in the Amazon, and from where we will jump on a boat and float over the border into Brazil before travelling down the Amazon....
2. A decision has been made on the next and final stage of our trip, and we have booked flights to...da, da, daaaaaa..............South Africa!!! Woo hoo! No real idea of our plans as yet, except that the countries which we would like to visit are South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia, and any others that we have time to fit in would be fab.
Gosh, what an adventure we are having! And still so much to look forward to!!!!
Well, we will leave you with yet a few more photos of the beautiful wildlife and beaches of Peru, so enjoy.
