DOMINIQUE HERE:

Day : 311
Temperature : 30 degrees
Weather : Sunny, sunny, sunny!!!!

So, we endured another 20 hour bus journey, hopefully the last of such journeys that we will be making...but yes, it WAS worth it. Ok, so it's not the beautiful golden sandy beaches of Asia, or the turquoise seas of the Maldives, BUT, it is quiet, it has pounding waves thrashing the shore, pelicans which dive for fish just metres off beach, huge frigate birds soaring in the skies, and it has absolutely gorgeous sunsets. It will do just fine for 10 days.

The only down side is "Rolly II", the local kid in the room next door, of about 6 years of age, on holiday with his family, rather overweight and spoilt, and forever throwing tantrums, stomping his feet and shrieking at the top of his voice when ever he doesn't get his own way, even at 2 in the morning! And just when I was about to tell him that I will throw him into the sea, (cos I actually know how to say that in Spanish!) I see that that his parents are packing....they are leaving, hurrray!!!! Our day just got 10 times better :)

So, here we are, in Punta Sal, which is situated on the northern coast of Peru, between Mancora and Tumbes. A perfect location, because it means that the bus journey across the border into Ecuador will only be a teeny tiny 8 hours long. I imagine that our days will go something like this.....get up early (or not) to see the sunrise and try to get some pictures of the pelicans fishing. Today was a "not get up early" day, but I am sure tomorrow we will at least TRY to get up early! Have breakfast. Lie on the beach listening to iPod. Try to drink lots of water...it's HOT out there, did I tell you that?! Lunch. Siesta or catch up on the blog. Today, I am sacrificing my siesta in order to show you some of the amazing sunset pictures from yesterday. After siesta, back out onto the beach. Drink more water, or maybe a mango juice or something like that? Or have an icream...on the beach, watching the pelicans...that's nice. Go for a stroll on the beach, with camera, just in time for sunset. Gawp in amazement at the beautiful colours in the sky as the sun goes down. Wander back for dinner. Sit on balcony with glass of wine.

There may be a few variations on a daily basis, but you get the general idea....now, where's my sunscreen and my sarong?

yeah, it's very relaxing, very nice, and lovely to get some warm sunshine! It's about 5 steps from our room to the hammock and 15 steps to the beach...And we have another 4 days to left. Happy days......
