DOMINIQUE HERE:

Day : 221 ?
Temperature : 30 degrees
Weather : Rainy, rainy, rainy!!

OK, I thought I'd write a very quick blog to update you all on what's been going on over the past few days.

After another night at the Rarotonga Backpackers we were getting absolutely no sleep from the cockerels crowing at 2am!! We decided to hire the bike...(in the end Kevin only had to ride the bike in a straight line 100 yards, so no great driving test photos for you)...and we went for a ride around the island to see what we could find for alternative accommodation. We found another hostel but it was full and all the other hotels were too expensive. Just as we were about to give up hope we stumbled across a little guest house. The owners were out at the time, but one other guest, a girl called Fi from Australia, was staying there...she showed us around, it looked fab, there was availability, AND, it was heaps cheaper than where we were staying before!

We returned to our original hostel, informed them that we were checking out the following day, had another sleepless night, and the following morning we moved straight away to our new guest house. What a great decision to move! Fi, as it turns out, is a diving instructor, marine biologist with an interest in all thing nature, and big time traveller who has spent heaps of time in S America (our next destination!)

We spent our first day at our new guest house chatting about everything under the sun for 8 whole hours!!! We ventured out only to try to get internet again (it still wasn't working) and for a swim in the evening. The next day (yesterday) it rained solidly all day, and we once again spent the day in Fi's company having a great time despite the weather, but still we couldn't find internet connection anywhere.

Today, the weather has still been pants but we all walked down for a snorkel where Fi pointed out loads of cool things for us. All three of us then piled on our scooter, looking like something from Dumb and Dumber, being laughed at by all the locals...very hilarious!...and eventually found some internet connection at a posh hotel...so here we are!

OK folks, not the most amazing blog I know but I am seriously rushing cos internet is sooo expensive here. We will do our best to contact you all on Christmas day and will blog again soon. Hope everyone is well back home.... Byyeeeeee
