DOMINIQUE HERE:
Day : 204
Temperature : 24 degrees
Weather : Sunny morning, cloudy afternoon......and very windy!
For those of you that know Kevin, you will be aware that he hates being late for anything, particularly when travelling anywhere. This is why we arrived first in the queue, over one hour before anybody else at the ferry terminal this morning. Good thing was though, first on, first off.
We sailed through the Marlborough Sounds passing some beautiful scenery. The waters were calm and the sun was shining. As soon we entered the open sea we certainly knew about it. Waves, wind, and sea sickness! I spent the rest of the journey looking at the horizon, which, as you can imagine, was VERY interesting! By this time Kevin was now on his second portion of chips. That was after his macaroni and cheese which he'd had an hour previously. Oh, how I wish I had good sea legs.
We arrived in Windy Welly at 1pm. And, yes, it was very windy. Poor Harold was buffeted by the winds as we drove and Kevin struggled to keep control. As we ventured further inland thankfully the winds died down, and by the time we arrived at our campsite for the night it had turned into a beautiful evening. It had been another long day, but we were now ready for everything the north island had to offer.
