DOMINIQUE HERE:

Day : 181
Temperature : 29 degrees
Weather : Wet, wet, wet

We've had a lovely few days here in Ko Yao Noi....in between the rain showers that is. Today, we decided to hire a motorbike again and head around the island as the weather was looking lovely this morning. No sooner had we paid for our bike and were 10 minutes into our island exploration and the heavens opened BIG time. Frantically we pulled into the first guest house that we could see, parked the bike, and fled into the restaurant for shelter. An hour later it looked like it had stopped raining so we ventured out once again. The skies were still looking ominous however, and the visibility over the bay had reduced to practically zero. Within ten minutes of being on the bike and we were assaulted with another torrential downpour. We were in the middle of no where by then. Unfortunately, we weren't wearing helmets, and so despite my demands Kevin absolutely refused to put his foot down and get us to shelter on grounds of safety and speeding!

After an eternity on the bike going at 5 mph in the pouring rain we pulled into a little cafe. Once again we plonked ourselves down and ordered yet another tea and coffee. We waited and waited and waited for the rain to stop. Three hours later it was still chucking it down. We ordered lunch. We ate lunch. It was still raining. We checked the weather forecast for the area online....rain, rain and more rain for the next few days. We checked the weather forecast for Bangkok....32 degrees and sunny for the next few days. At around 5pm we decided we had no choice but to get back on the bike and head to our hotel. And that was when the decision was made. No point staying here in the rain, sitting in our hotel room all day. We were leaving for Bangkok the following morning......
