We made it!! 30 hours on the train. With 6 of those waiting a the border between Mongolia and China.  I was sightly worried when Mongolian Passport control did not think it was me in my Passport!  He made me stand up, take off my glasses and wait. I thought "shit I might be turned away!"  But after a while he gave me back my passport and told me to sit down. Maybe I should wear my wig next time!

Luckily after we got through the border, the Chinese attendant on the train told the French man in our cabin that he could have a room on his own. This meant we had the 4 berth cabin to our selves! Bargain! 1st class for the price of 2nd class!! This allowed us to veg out which was great.

We arrived in Beijing at 2pm on Tuesday, and luckily since the Olympics in 2008 the Chinese  have made a real effect to put all the signs in English. This made it so much easilier to get around the city. The underground is so simple to navigate around. There are 7 routes that map the city and it costs only 20p per ride.

The 2 Dutch chaps that we meet on the Train in Russia arranged for us all to meet up in Beijing last night. They took us to a great Korean Restaurant, which costs only £12 per head. This was well above our normal budget, but we needed a great meal after Russia and Mongolia.... ...especially as I got food poisoning in our last night in Mongolia.... Just what I wanted the night before a 30 hour train ride!!  After taking a package of Immodium I managed to survive the journey!

Just spent a day looking around Beijing, but I will allow Dom to update the blog later in the week, with our feelings of sight seeing in Beijing.
