Today it was HOT! 35 Celcius which is maybe close to 90? We took a trip up to Warrandyte (about hour north of Ringwood) to the Yarra River which later flows through Melbourne (Moomba Waterfest). The river was pretty ok. The water was clean but the bottom was muddy and rocky (kept having visions of giant leeches, BLAH!). Did a bit of the swim. It was nice to check out anyways. Shan said that this part we were swimming at had been blown out during the gold rush days. Australia had a similar gold rush as California did and at roughly the same time in history. On the way home we stopped at a strawberry farm and had Strawberries and Cream! Amazing!
Am getting ready for Colleen and Jon to be here! They arrive tomorrow and I'm renting a car, SCARY! Wrong side of the road plus those who know how I drive will appreciate the seriousness of this:-) j/k, it'll be ok... think left!!! So yeah, Colleen and Jon will be here Mon - Wed. Mon is Labor Day here in Victoria!! So there will be plenty to do. I plan on bombarding them w/ brochures on a couple of regions. Yarra Valley wine country, Great Ocean Rd and the City. That will cover the 3 days they are here so I know it'll be some good times! YIPPEE! Fun to have people to do things with which I definitely am missing that big time!

A couple of other weekly recaps.... Had a woman yell at me on the phone while at work. What a bitch! We're now doing surveys to MBF's existing members discussing the recent rise in their health insurance. Anyways she wanted to do the survey but couldn't b/c of privacy guidelines, etc, etc but she meanly Asked me "Why hadn't I stayed in America?" What a cow! As April put it. Damn straight... oh well.. maybe that's why I don't mind it when people think I'm from Canada... sometimes easier that way.
Finished a new piece. It's of me, and I must say I feel it's fabulous!
Got a link to one of the people I traveled w/ on the Tassie trip. Here's his blog, pretty good. I like how he's recommended music. So I'm going to do that now. As I'm writing this I'm enjoying Doves "Some Cities". It's fantastic! I heart it!
Blogs are pretty interesting in general. I'm amazed that I've gotten as many hits as I have been. Maybe it's just my Dad worrying about what I'm doing and where I'm at but there's a reason people check them out and I think it's cool. With that said here's a link to one of my fav blogs, Planet Dan. Found it when a piece was done featuring crappy senior photos. I laughed, it was great!
