It came to my attention this week that I only have about 2 months left here. Hard to believe halfway through and I really haven't done half the stuff I want, but I suppose I'm on the right track, left - to go, perfect:-) Wednesday night I made April and Shan go to the Moonlight Cinema. Pirates in the Carribean was playing (we're on a pirate theme) and I think it was a good time... April and Shan had pasted out:-) Thursday I went to an art cinema screening: Mirrorball. Pretty interesting.... Lots of glitchy techno music videos of dancing moving shapes used to construct urban landscapes... (an attempt at a description). Friday I went to a free performance, Ballet at the Bowl. The Aussie Ballet did exerpts from different ballets at the Sydney Myer Music Bowl. It was a good time. I always marvel at the altheticism ballet dancers possess, always more evident in tights:-), plus they did a bit from the Nutcracker!
Saturday I went into the city and grabbed some brochures from travel agents on trips to take into SE Asia. I was told doing a package you can generally get better deals. I was thinking of Hong Kong, then Bali but they have terrorism warnings there now (not so good b/c Bali is still trying to recover it's tourism sector since the 2002 night club bombings). I'm now looking at Vietnam or Laos??? That can always change. Have found a neat travel website though Intrepid. So yeah, then went into Fitzroy (Brunswick St) and checked out the Rose St Artists Market. Some pretty average stuff there... I picked up a pair of zipper earrings which were pretty cool looking and went to check out how they were made, dropped it on the floor and the back broke off. The girl was ok w/ it b/c she was at least glad I had found out how shitty her jewelry was b/4 I bought it! HA! Oh well, I was able to appreciate that, jewelry is hard to make w/out a soldering iron and all that business. Did some shopping... found a cute pair of white sneakers which I need to pick up (I'm justifying them by the fact that I walk so much and need better shoes).

Moomba Waterfest was happening that night so I did a walk around. Rides, food, waterskiing on the Yarra River, entertainment, etc. Tons of people there. Had some corn on the cob, fresh jam donut, and sushi! If only a person could always eat at festivals! Mmmm!
