June 28 and 29, July 1 and July 2
July 1 - We enjoyed a lazy day at the campground. When I got up the first thing I did was call my siser Mary Jane to wish her a happy 59th. She and her husband, Tom, live in St. Lucie West, FL, where we also have our second home. My other sister, Rita, has a second home there, too. She and her family are there now, so they will be able to help older sis celebrate. They plan to go to the River House restaurant for dinner. They serve meals to die for! I love their escargot and prime rib.
One of the caravan members stopped by today to put a decal on our rig's windshield identifying us as a member of the Gulfstreamers caravan. We're #18. There are 18 rigs in the caravan.
All caravan members are in Great Falls now except for two parties who will meet us in Dawson Creek, BC, Canada. We had a meeting to go over some specifics about our trip. One of the things we found out is that we will not be traveling in a convoy. We are told where we should end up for the day and are on our own unless we want to buddy up with someone else. That's kind of nice, since we can go at our own pace and stop whenever we want to see something that interests us. When we are near each destination, we are supposed to call our Wagonmaster on the CB to let him know that we are arriving and he lets us know where to park.
Once we're all safe and sound at each campground, we stick together for the scheduled activities.
