Our return route was a more scenic route up the coast and thru a gorge. The scenery was absolutely breath taking and the pictures won't capture all of its beauty but we hope you enjoy. The gorge that we stopped at was called Karangahake. In the early 1900's it was actually a Gold mining facility where they took the ore out of the mountain and ground it up to sand then added Cyanide to abstract the gold. It was then melted into Gold bullion and sold. We were unable to find any 'gold' laying around! We walked thru some mine shafts which was quite cold and dark and scary.

Hey guys! Sounds like you brought in the new year in style! I went down to the falls with sarah and watched Lover boy and the stix play live. There was lots of fire works and drunk people. BUT IT WAS COLD!!! I'M sure you guys miss the cold right!!! If I was you I would just stay there. but then you woud miss Ozzy! Have fun. Bo.
