We took the "Young Trekkers" walking tour guide (designed for kids) to explore some of the many historic sights within the walled city. This was interspersed with museums (ancient, old as dirt Roman artifacts), fountains, and churches, of which, the incredible black and white marble cathedral, is most famous. While staying at the Siena hostel, we met a fascinating young man from London, England, (via Kelowna, Canada), who had just graduated with a degree in violin-making, and was walking from London to Rome! He left there on July 29 and will arrive in Rome in about 8 more days. I'm sure Arthur's backpack weighed as much as he did! Thanks for the vino, Arthur!

TEST QUESTION NUMBER 16

How did the city of Siena choose the colours black and white for its coat of arms and astonishing cathedral?

TEST QUESTION NUMBER 17

What female saint's preserved head is on display in the Dominican church in Siena?
