A rough night with Woody. High temp and much restlessness.  He is unsettled and he is even saying he feels unwell, which he never says.

By morning, Woody still has a temperature, so  no preschool for Woody.  Noah and I have buckets and buckets of things to do today, so we need to have a bit of a rethink.

The fellas spend  the early morning playing and then Noah cracks on to finish some work.  Woody and  do a puzzle  and get ready.  Noah has promised to make Woody a pair of owl wings when his work is finished, and Woody is super excited about this.

So I crack on with some uni work and the fellas make Woody a pair of wings

The fellas have some lunch and then run around in the backyard.  Woody is convinced he is the fastest person in the world.  We have encouraged this belief because we like to be supportive.  Woody's basis for this belief is that he is faster than his Dad, therefore he must be the fasted person in the world.  I try not to be discouraging, but I do tell Woody that there are people faster than his Dad.  But Woody is so convinced that he can run faster than any person, and now he has added that he can also run faster than a whale.  We check if he means swimming, and we confirm he is a fast swimmer.  He says no, he can run faster than a whale.  Frankly, he probably can.  We’ll give him that one.  Woody demonstrates how fast he can run by going a bit bananas running around the backyard and I notice how long his hair is.

I suggest to him he could run faster with less hair ( I do this cautiously as yesterday he cried when I said he needed a haircut!).  I suggest I time him running before and after his haircut and see how much quicker he gets.  He is up for this and cannot stop running.  Everywhere.  He hurries Noah to get ready for the hairdressers.  So Noah takes him up the road to the Barbers.  And they close at lunchtime and they’ve missed them.  Bummer.  I hope the same faster running trick works tomorrow.

Back at home Woody plays gets a treasure map sent in the post from the lovely Isla.  Quick thinking Noah hides a chocolate coin in the garden in a spot which looks like Isla's drawing and covers it with an 'x marks the spot'.  Woody follows th map in the garden and finds the chocolate.  He is over the moon and cannot believe his luck.  What a day for a 4year - edible treasure in the garden!

Woody tires quickly and comes inside and draws Isla a picture and then has some books and goes to bed for a rest.  I check on him and Noah is asleep in Woody’s bed and Woody is wide awake because he cannot get comfortable  because Noah is taking up all the room.  I suggest they move into the big bed, but they don’t.  Noah moves over about 1cm, and Woody lies there awake and a bit squished.  I give it 10 more minutes and then let Woody get up, leaving Noah to sleep in the car bed designed for a 3 year old.  Woody and have a bit of a play  and Woody wants to write out a menu.  Random!

I leave the room for a second to put dinner on, and Woody is off to wake Noah.  I make dinner, the fellas play then Woody eats and Noah works.

I put Woody to bed with his books and he literally falls asleep in a second.  Noah buys some supplies at the shops – we are out of everything tasty!, and then we eat and watch the masterchef finale.

I blog, Noah works and that’s out evening.  Not nearly enough done for me.  Tomorrow will be an early one.  Grrrr.

Sleep well.  bx
