Noah packs the bags and then Noah, Woody and I head off in search of the beach. The Mothership stays at home and prepares herself for a day of sewing, after she has had some scrambled eggs.
We make our way to Broadbeach. The fellas claim a patch of sand and I enthusiastically buy lots of things at the bakery, some token fruit and water, and of course, my BFF coffee. It is an extremely gorgeous day. Woody digs a big, ol' hole and is just super happy. Even when he accidentally head butts his Tonka Truck, he only briefly stops smiling.
I listen to my audiobook which I just love
We head down to the water and it feels like someone has put ice cubes in it. Freezing (although potentially not as cold as the water in Frinton!)
We play around in the water and have a great time. Woody is laughing and falling about.
We very reluctantly leave the beach when we think we might be at risk of frying.
At home, we have some lunch and the Mothership continues to sew. She is making some cushion covers for her room – they look fabulous. We’re really happy with them but Mum is moaning that the cushions are not thick enough and so is calling them ‘the wafers’. Grrrr. Off to Spotlight tomorrow...
Woody plays outside on his own for ages and he is just lovely
After that I take a very fabulous friends very wise advice and have a big blank piece of paper and write down everything I have to do, and everything that is on my mind. It takes ages. I park some stuff that is just unrealistic at the moment and that feels good. I put it on another list so it looks like I have less to do. I get this about 80% done (the writing of the list, not actually doing stuff!) and then take a break to look at our finances. Now, this was a big mistake. Whooosh! That is the sound of the wind leaving my sails. Just like that. Crap.
I make dinner, the mothership is sewing a dress for Skye, and the fellas are sorting Lego.
We have dinner, and woody is strongly coerced / bribed into tidying up.
Mum and Woody watch Fern Gully (again) and Noah goes out in search of booze, crisps and popcorn at the Mothership’s insistence
Noah comes back and disperses the snacks and I bring him up to speed on our situation. Noah makes some suggestions and I throw my toys out the pram. Even I can see that is not ever so helpful.
Noah keeps working, I blog, and Mum and I half watch ‘The Voice’ and play that game where we try and decide who we would punch first. It was a real tricky one tonight.
I am going to finish the blog and then try and be positive and come up with a master plan, and then a plan for this week. Sigh.
Cracking on. Good night good people. x
