Saturday is footy day. We are up early and ready to go and wake the Mothership 10 minutes before we have to be out the door. She is pretty unimpressed with such short notice, but manages to rustle up a pair of high heels to wear to footy...
Woody is a champion at footy. He tries very hard and does a pretty good job. Coach Hayden finally explains to Woody that his name is not Jayden – so that's good to get that sorted!
After footy we call in at the hairdressers to make an appointment – very soon I will have a hairstyle again. Can’t wait.
It is another gorgeous day in paradise so we decide to head to the beach. We pop to the shops and buy some fruit and some magazines and drinks. Very good. I make Noah pose next to a sign which says, 'Big & Hairy, yet still approachable’ – it felt appropriate. We make our way to the fabulous beach.
We read, we eat, we dig holes and play games. We have a splash about and decide to call it a day when I feel I am starting to fry.
We head home and I make giant and excellent salads. We all chomp our healthy feasts and we discuss plans for the rest of the time the Mothership is here. The fellas have a little play, mum tidies up and I faff around.
Before long we are itching to be back at the beach. So we head back out, we head to the beach via a fabric shop (Spotlight at Ashmore , for those interested...). I buy some fabric for the Mothership to make some cushion covers for her bedroom. And Mum runs into someone for the old Lincraft days (Lyndal- Trish works there!). We all have a good old chatter.
Woody loves Spotlight and he looks at things he would like for his birthday, things to go in party bags, and anything vaguely pirate-y.
Mum makes plans to catch up with Trish and we leave in search with caffeine. We all inhale lattes and we head back to Broadbeach.
Back at Broadbeach we do the usual games and nonsense. Woody looks so insanely happy - we all have a ball.
Back at home, Woody has a bath and I rustle up some pizzas. Terrific-ness.
Woody goes to sleep in a heartbeat and Mum and I do our ’30 day shred DVD’ and feel appropriately shredded at the end.
Post shred – we hook into some wine and watch some TV and cook some brownies. Ha!
And that is us today. Two beach trips, some exercise, some wine, and about a billion smiles from the little fella. Not bad at all.
Sleep tight folks. xx
