Woody wakes up in a terrific mood. He is happy and gorgeous, and better still, happy to watch some Madagascar so Noah and I do not have to leap out of bed.  Excellentness.

I get up and make a salad, tidy up, decorate some cupcakes and generally feel quite busy considering I actually achieve very little.  I have a gift.

We head out and noah drops me at a friend's place and the fellas come home and play.  I busy myself with some very important Easter egg hunt type activities.  We hang signs, make footprints, decorate trees, put out little chicks and leave evidence of little cotton tails.  It looks brilliant.  We also set up egg decorating.

The kids all arrive and receive a basket and ears and they can barely contain their excitement when they can see the chocolates – everywhere!  They basically run around the garden like crazy collecting Easter eggs.  Woody does not really get the hang of it.  He is running around, and certainly having a ball but he is picking up eggs, saying 'I found it’ and putting it back.  At one point he is running around with 1 egg and 2 little chicks in his basket, as happy as anything.  I think at the Easter egg hunt at kindy on Thursday there must have been some rules about only taking one egg.  Woody said something to us about only taking one egg and not spoiling it for others.  But, once he gets the hang of it he makes up for lost time.

It is hotter than the sun, and even though the eggs are only in the sun for a heartbeat they are melting quickly.  So all the chocs go into the fridge, leaving Woody to hide in the garden where no one can see and eat as many chocolates as he can that got overlooked in the hunt.  He looks very sneaky, hot and messy.

The kids play Harry Potter and the adults sit in the shade, chat, eat snacks and have a slurp.

We have a BBQ and the kids play and we generally wile away the afternoon under the pergola.  Very good indeed.

We head home and Noah gets cracking on work.  Woody has a long bath to remove the chocolate and ketchup that he seems to be covered in.  I then try and give him dinner but he can only face grapes and apple.  I think he has eaten so much chocolate today he cannot face anything else.  We’ve all been there...

We read some books and he is asleep in a heartbeat.  I watch biggest loser, Noah works, and I try and help.  It’s a hot old evening.

I daydream about our holiday in southern California and wish I could magic us back there, just for a bit.  And then I start thinking about Tennessee and how much I love it and how much I want to go back.  And this leads me to thinking about Hawaii... I mention this to Noah and he says how much he misses and has been thinking about Hawaii.  Oh, dear.  This is sounding like it could get expensive.  Note to self; must get jobs to fund wanderlust.

I contemplate sorting out the kitchen or doing an exercise DVD but neither thing has happened or is likely to.  I am too busy eating Woody's chocolate whilst he is asleep.  Tomorrow, I detox.  Today, I see if we have any crisps left.

Good night good friends and happy Easter all.
