It is Saturday and Noah almost gets a sleep in. Woody and I get up, get ready, make pancakes, and we are ready to go to footy and Woody says he really wants Noah to watch.  So we wake Noah and he manages to get ready and in the car in about 3 seconds.  He eats pancakes and wakes up en route.  Between the time he woke up and leaving for football Woody has managed to squeeze in 2.5 breakfasts.  I cannot wait until Woody meets his first breakfast buffet.  He is going to love it.  Woody and I also find the time to make an owl puppet to play in the Aesop's fable game.  And we play.

At football, Woody is a legend.  I do not care how biased I sound/am.  He is a little star.  He concentrates, tries his hardest, smiles a smile that lights up the world, and laughs the most infectious laugh.  But what I was most proud of was at the end of the lesson the coach offered them a mini chocolate egg from a massive bowl.  Some of the kids were snatching handfuls and Woody waited to be offered one and he took only one, said thank you, and was delighted.  I love a well mannered child, especially when it turns out the well mannered child is mine!

After footy we briefly head home and the fellas play a bit of footy in the back garden.  It is lovely to watch.

Next we head to the shops so I can buy some bits to ice the cupcakes.  Success.  We also post some bits to the UK.  That's two things crossed off the list.  Achieved.

We ignore the rain and we head down to Kurrawa beach for a kids fun fair.  The rain stops but we drive around and cannot find the funfair.  For the last 10 days there has been the Surf Life saving National Titles at the beach and quite ignorantly we had not realised a young lifesaver died in the week whilst taking part in the competition.  There was no fair at the beach or any people as the championships were moved to another beach.  Not sure if this made international press, but a young competitor died in the same competition at the same beach 2 years ago, and another in 1996.   It is obviously the subject of heated debate around here.

We give the beach a miss and we head to the Southport sharks AFL club and we join up.  They have a trillion things going on there, aside from the football.  It cost $5 to join and there is a kid’s area, cheap and fresh meals, a lovely coffee shop, pokies, a swimming club, a gym, a courtesy bus so we are very much looking forward to taking the mothership here.

Back at home Woody is super dooper tired.  I try and get him to sleep and he does not respond well this.  Grrrrrrrr.  I do not respond well to this either.  Grrrrrr.

The day almost goes horribly wrong but Woody redeems himself by tidying up the lounge.  Phew.  We are back in business. I make some pizza bases

We pack Woody some dinner and head down to Broadwater park for a concert as there is an Earth Hour event on.  There is a drum circle, hula hoops, fire dancers, bands and a dj.  Woody rides around, has a dance, has a drum, has a play and I am a legend with a hula hoop.

We head home when Woody is on the verge of having a bit of a meltdown.

Back at home Woody is asleep in a heartbeat and Noah works and we eat some dinner, watch some movie and throw chocolate into our faces.

And that is our Saturday. Happy Saturday all.  xxxx
