This morning I wake up and get out of bed straight away. The last few days Noah and I have stayed up too late, and been too tired in the morning and it has clearly really annoyed Woody.  So this morning, I get up early straight away, and then doze on the sofa with Woody.  Not ideal really, will try harder tomorrow.

We watch some TV, eat some brekkie and then pack the beach bag, Noah wakes and then we head to the beach via Old McDonald's Farm for some caffeine and a McMuffin.   Woody enthusiastically ate a second breakfast as we headed to the beach.

The beach was absolutely gorgeous.  The surf life saving boats we heading out of a competition and the sun was spectacular.  We dug holes, made a car out of sand, and then generally felt a little squiffy as the full force of a McDonalds brekkie settled in our stomachs.  Grrrrr.

Next we headed back to a hardware store in Southport where Woody’s preschool is having a fundraiser sausage sizzle.  We arrive for Woody’s teachers’ cooking shift and Woody I just delighted to see them.  He smiles his face off and tells them about the beach.  We have a drink and then we pop inside the hardware store where they have a play area.  Woody razzes around and gets red faced.  We decide to head home, and Woody decides to grab a sausage for the road.

We head home where I check out our finances for the coming month.  This is not the most fun I have ever had.  When I am fed up with that, I tidy the kitchen.  This is also not fun.  I then have some lunch,  but this point, I have lost my sense of fun.  The boys play trains.

We head back over the hardware store where I am on onion frying duty.  On the way Woody says how much he loves this place.  I ask him why and he says ' I can’t believe it’s got kindy and a sausage sizzle’.  He loves it.  He is expecting kindy to now have a permanent sausage sizzle.  He has also asked for one for his birthday.  Ha!

So I fry onions and serve the good of Southport with sizzling sausages. It is not very busy, so we chat and fry stuff.  Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.   The boys are at home charged with finishing off the kitchen.  I have asked Woody to do the washing up, he seemed pretty keen.  We’ll see.

The fellas come back to the sausage sizzle, Woody gets to say hello to some more teachers and has another play inside whilst I help tidy up.

We head home and the fellas play and I make Woody’s favourite sunshine risotto.   This is basically all the yellow foods I can find with rice.  After an initial reticence Woody eats it enthusiastically.

Woody has a bath, some books and goes to bed exhausted.

I do our internet banking and a massive online shop.  Massive. We watch Homeland and both Noah and I suffer extreme heart palpitations.  I team this with a kind of throbbing in the head from all the stress.  Whilst we watch this we eat chocolate and crisps which probably puts us at a greater risk of a heart attack, given the stress we are under watching Homeland.  I am glad it is the end of the first  series because frankly I cannot handle the pressure.

So, that is now.  I am blogging and Noah is working.  We are still feeling a little tense.

This week has been a funny one.  We have stumbled and lurched from one thing to the next.  We are glad this week is over.  I love the fresh start and potential that Monday mornings bring.

Goodnight x
