Back at home, Noah is awake and we rustle up beach stuff and head into Broadbeach. We decide to pop into the surf club for a morning tea of caffeine and a brownie. Very satisfactory. And then we are on the beach. There is a grandstand and lots of activity as there is a rowing championship. It is not on whilst we are there so we can to have a play on the beach. We make foot prints for all the animals from the Gruffalo and then Noah and Woody have a game of footy, with a hole in the sand as goal. Woody does a lot of crazy laughing.
We head over the pacific fair shopping centre to buy Woody a bucket
We stop for Woody to have an omelette and toast for lunch and then we head home. Put exhausted little fella is asleep in a heartbeat.
Back at home Woody sleeps for about an hour, Noah works, and I go through the filing cabinet and reorganise and relabel everything. I have been meaning to do this for ages as life feels a bit out of control when the paperwork is not organised. I feel a sense of achievement.
Woody watches some TV and I check the cupboards for what I can make for a picnic dinner. I draw a blank. So I quickly make a pizza. This is not the most convenient of picnic foods, especially when it means having to take a boiling hot tray in the car and to the park. But this is what we do.
There are a few bands on at Broadwater park. Woody has a bike ride and a dance and we all sit and have some pizza. We then go for a walk and Woody is just the happiest kid in the world. He seemed intent on joining another family, so that was the only thing that was a little weird – other than that a terrific night.
Back at home, Woody tries to resist going to sleep but sleep wins in the end. Noah stays up and works and I am not sure what I do, but I think it involved falling asleep on the sofa.
Yawn. Goodnight. x
