I have to submit my article today. Yikes. I listen back to my second interview and edit them both down so they can be used as a Q & A in a magazine. It takes longer than I realised but I think it is worth the time spent and I am super happy with the end results. High five me!
Then I run through the article I originally submitted and decide I quite like it how it is. Noah concurs; this is a good thing for a husband to do. But I need to add a paragraph in and it is already over the word count. So I whittle it down and I think it improves in the process. Again, this takes longer than I expected but thoroughly worth the effort
Meantime the fellas have been sitting under the table in the Man Cave play Lego.
Noah then gets on with work and I have some lunch with the woodpecker and then pop him down to sleep. We read some books and then Woody gives me the complete run around. But he really needs a sleep so I persist and he sleeps and the mummy is the winner. And that’s another high five for me!
This afternoon Woody has a play date and I want to take something for afternoon tea. We have nothing that could even pass as afternoon tea so it is time to get baking. I decide it is gingerbread men, and get the stuff out, and then take a phone call. I am running out of time so Noah has to make the gingerbread dough. This is beautiful to watch. He does great but by the time I get off the phone I realise there is no way they will be in the oven by the time we need to leave, let alone cooked. So I do a super speedy whip up another batch of biscuits and get them in the oven in a heartbeat and then we have biscuits to take. Winner.
So, Woody wakes and we go on our play date. Woody and his new little friend get on super, super well instantly. They both have mischief on their minds but their laughter is just infectious. Woody is so, so happy and so I am I; I have a cuppa and a hot cross bun. Life is good.
When I think Woody will spontaneously combust if he has any more fun we head home. Woody and I make pizza and he is just too broken to eat. I kind of knew this would happen but we were having such a super fab time I did not want to go. So we go to be without dinner, but I don’t think he’ll starve.
Noah works in the evening and organises the images for my article. I send off my article and fall asleep and Noah stays up tapping at the key board.
Good night great people. xxxx
