The day starts earlier than I do and when I wake up Noah and Woody are downstairs with the ex-neighbours removing the remainder of their bits from under the house.

When the fellas return it is all systems Lego and we get back to building emergency vehicles out of Lego whilst I monster a bowl of porridge. We also chat about Woody's new reward chart which he is very excited about.

Woody really wants a bike ride so we plan to head down to Broadwater park. We have a quick tidy up and get dressed and this is where our plan comes undone.  Woody has goes a bit crazy and we are, even now, not sure what it was all about.  My best guess is that it was about a pair of socks.  After much serious mum face and very stern voice, Woody decides he is going to behave and we head out.  I feel a bit exhausted from the ordeal but I feel like the victor.

So we head out and Woody is a delight.  He rides his bike, and he is brilliant.  He says hi to everyone he rides past and just seems so happy.  Woody has a picnic lunch and we watch a band sound check.  We head down to the bike track and Woody rides round and round and I time him.  He has improved loads on the track.  We ride back and Woody parks up at the pool and says he fancies a swim.

So the fellas go for a swim and I sit on the sand and watch the rain come and go.  Woody practices his swimming and again, he is fantastic.

He dries off and jumps back on the bike and he rides back towards the car.  We give him instructions of when he has to turn left and right and he does a pretty good job.

The band is now playing and Woody is drawn to it.  He rides to where he can see the band, jumps off his bike, and starts dancing.  Woody loves the music.  We stay for a couple of songs, until the time on our parking is about to run out, and then Woody rides back to the car.

We head home, and Woody says he wants to finish his lunch.  So he sits at the table and has a bit of a meltdown about a cheese sandwich.  I do the serious mum face and very stern voice for the second time today, and for the second time today it works.  Woody sits down calmly to eat and then says that he really is too tired to eat could he go to bed.  Why, of course.

We read some books and the lovely fella is asleep.

Noah works and I make our lunch, tidy up, and sort the meals for the week and write the shopping list.

Woody wakes and we head to the beach.  He is back to his chatty and engaging self.  Woody and Noah replace Woody’s broken spade and then head over to the beach.  The plan is for me to get the shopping, put it in the car, and then meet the at the beach.  The shop is chaos, it takes ages, and when I finally am on my way to put the stuff in the car I realise I do not have the keys.  Dream team.....  I walk passed a man who is inexplicably cooking sausages outside the supermarket.  In my general direction he calls. 'Come get your sizzle here girls, best sizzle of your life.’  Umm,  no thanks.  So I sit on a handily placed sofa, away from flirty sizzle man, listen to my audio book, and wait for the fellas to appear.

They arrive looking windswept and happy and we head back to the car.  We feed and wash Woody and he does not stop talking.  He is happy and has lots to say.    We read some more, and he is asleep.

Noah and I eat some dinner; watch Homelands on TV, and blog.  And that is our day.

Still to come.... some work, some caffeine, some planning and some jobs.

Good night good people.   x
