It's raining and under our house has flooded. Blah.
It is not actually a 'designated’ storage area under our house, but we store stuff there – luckily everything on bricks. So that’s all fine. There is a pump which kicks in when the water gets to a certain level, but frankly, it has rained so much I think it is knocked. So Noah sweeps, clears drain, and sorts the pump and we are back in business.
The fellas go to the library and Woody works on a craft project, cutting out clothes for bears.
When they get home, Woody and I keep working on this. At the moment, he does love a pair of scissors. I watch him like a hawk as I am sensing mischief afoot.
It is so dark outside and raining so heavy I suggest we watch a movie. I was thinking one of the Brother Bears or something. Woody chooses to watch a wiggles Christmas DVD ‘Yule be Wiggling’ . This is painful to watch at Christmas, let alone in January. So, Woody watches this and I go through the cupboard and take out every Christmas DVD so I do not end up in this situation again.
After this torture, I ask Woody what he would like to do. He replies, ‘I’d like to make something with PVA glue’. So, so random – even for Woody. So I get out the PVA glue and we decorate the egg cartons we painted yesterday. We make various aliens and we both enjoy this little project.
Next I do the online shopping, and Woody takes out every toy he owns and puts it in the lounge room. This is my least favourite game.
Woody needs a distraction as he is looking for mischief still. So we make Choc chip scones. He loves this and can do lots of the process on his own as he has made lots of scones with nanny. Woody talks about how happy Nanny would be with how well he can make scones now. He is very proud.
Woody has a bath and I rustle up a dinner. I don’t think Woody even tastes his dinner, he is just hanging out for a scone after dinner.
In the evening, Noah does some freelance work and although I have squillion things to do, I sort out all the recipes I have pulled out of magazines. Even I cannot understand why I do this? Then I finish the various plans I have on spreadsheets and stuck on the wall and get a sense of achievement. I write a list of things I have to do tomorrow and I have a sense of achievement, despite having not achieved anything other than writing lists of what I have to do. Funny that.
Good night super folk. x
