The day starts stonkingly well. Woody and I head to swimming and Woody is brilliant at listening to the teacher and the actual swimming. That's a win-win. And I remember to take my super brilliant audio book which is nearing the end – so I get to listen to a fab story whilst I watch the swimming. I guess that makes it a win-win-win. That’s how all Monday mornings should be.
We head over the park for a couple of hours and Woody is fantastic company. We have a brilliant time. Except, perhaps, for the 2 occasions Woody takes a tumble from quite high on the climbing frame when he is up quite high. He is the most robust kid on the planet as he gets up happily on both occasions. I, on the other hand, am a neurotic mess.
We head home and have some lunch and I do some housework. Woody 'helps’ for a bit, here and there, but he would rather just stir me. In the end, he says he wants to clean the bath. This means having a bath and getting water everywhere. One step forwards, and two steps back. It was that kind of thing really
Because I am a crazy fool, after doing quite a bit of cleaning we follow this up by doing some painting. We paint eggs cartons in advance of tomorrow’s project. Woody then paints everything else within his reach. Aargh.
I somehow manage to finish reading my super great book – The Mum Who Roared. Here is a review of the book, ‘"Christie's book is a must-read for all mums who need a motivational boost. Christie's inspirational and down-to-earth tips show us the value of loving, not just our kids, but our selves as well. It's cheaper than therapy, less hassle than divorce, and less fattening than chocolate. Highly recommended." It is well worth a read for mums. I am sending it to Leonie next, but if anyone wants it after Leonie let me know – and she can send it on.
After this burst of productivity I quite unexpectedly fall asleep. I think this is technically known as the ‘nana nap’ . I awake, and it is dinner time and I am very confused
After this, I cannot really recall when happens as I never fully recover from my nanny nap.
Yawn
Good night x
