Noah gets up first with Woody and they have some chance to weave some magic around the house by the time I got up. There is a tent, a camp bed, supplies for the camping trip, soft toys, sunglasses, and umbrellas.  We also have the cinema set up from Friday night.  They have had to move furniture to accommodate such a serious amount of play equipment.  They are pretty happy people.

I munch down some brekkie, update the blog, and then we rustle up the little fella and head out the door.

It is a footy day today – so we head to Burleigh Waters with the little champion.  He joins in enthusiastically.  He concentrated pretty well today and all the kids seem to really enjoy the exercises.  Lots of drills involving jumping, weaving, running and of course, kicking goals.  As usual, there were high fives flying around left, round and centre.  All the kids love this.

Next we decide to head down to Coolangatta to the beachfront market.  This is super great for me, as the beaches around there are some of the beaches of my childhood.  They are still beautiful and Noah and I just love being close to the beach.  We sit and have a picnic in the park which Woody has been talking about all morning.  He clambers amongst the trees and played his imaginary games which makes him say crazy things like, 'they killed a bear and now the spirits are angry!'  He can be quite dramatic.  We then a wander around the markets and Woody starts being difficult and then he makes up a very extravagant explanation to justify his difficult behaviour.  Grrrr .  We wander around a little bit more, and then we get him in the car for a much needed sleep.

Woody nods off and Noah and I intend to head home, but with Woody asleep the lure to wander around the shops is irresistible.  So we swing into Robina and spend a happy hour or two wander around the shops.  It is a very relaxing and Woody wakes up in terrific spirits.  We have some drinks and then head to Broadbeach – or Broadie as Woody calls it.  Woody is dying to go to the park so we strike up a deal that we go there before the beach.  Woody has a fantastic run around and is a super happy boy.

We then hit the beach.  We are about 20 steps onto the beach and out of nowhere there are massive winds and a dark, dark cloud appears on the horizon.  Woody runs into the sand dunes, just as the wind really picks up, and he stands there unable to move with the sand spraying straight into this face.  It then starts raining.  Woody says ‘I do not really like this’.  Out of the blue he says, ‘I want to play tennis with Daddy’.  This takes me by surprise.  Turns out he means basketball, as there is a hoop on the beachfront.  Either way, it is starting to chuck it down, so we decide to give both basketball and/or tennis a miss and head home.

The journey home is quick, but it feels like an age.  Woody seems to get very homesick and it seems to come on all of a sudden.  He starts by saying he wants his grandma, and then he says he wants to see Seb (riley and jayden’s dog), and then he says he wants to be back in Billericay.  We try and explain that Grandma is coming soon but the dog cannot come as he cannot come on a plane.  Woody asks if we can buy a plane so the dog can go on that.  I say this is not possible.  So a 4wd ute pulls up beside us, and Woody starts calling out to the driver to get his attention.  The man did not hear.   I asked Woody what he had to say to the man and he said that he wanted to ask the man to drive to Billericay and bring back Seb.  Oh man, talk about holding back the blub.  Woody then asked if we could please bring Billericay to us.  He is really upset and his crying.  It is heartbreaking.  He then says he needs to speak to Riley and Jayden as he needs to apologise to them.  I asked him about this and he tells me he ‘accidentally’ broke the head off one of their dolls which was on their shelves, and apparently he never mentioned it and never apologised to them.  He wants to go back to Billericay to speak to them.  I assure him that it is ok and Woody seems to relax.  (Sorry about the doll girls!)  We are so looking to Woody making some friends as we are sure he will be less homesick.  It would probably help if Woody did not tip buckets of water on his friends at preschool...

As if by magic, by the time we get home it is no longer raining.  Woody wants to take (the imaginary) Seb to the park so Noah and Woody take the imaginary dog for a walk.  I am relieved when Woody is gone, as listening to his longing to be back in Billericay is just heartbreaking.

Once he is at the park he is fine.  I crack on with dinner and we all have a lovely meal when the fellas are back.  After dinner, Noah sorts out Woody and I skype  Laoidhe and we try and catch each other up on our lives.

After this, Noah does blog photos and I update our finances spreadsheet.  We half watch a movie and struggle to keep up with who is with who.  In the end Keanu Reeves gets dumped for Jack Nicholson.  On what planet that might happen is a mystery to me.

So I blog and Noah is asleep, perched at his laptop.  I think it might be time for bed.

Good night lovely people. Happy Sunday xxx
