I wake up, and Noah has not yet gone to bed. Not good.  He has been working on some photobooks as we realised we had a voucher which expired in a couple of hours.  Anyway, we made the deadline so we are okay – phew – but very tired.

So I get up, and Noah gets some kip.  Woody has a touch of crazy about him already but out of nowhere, I am patient.  So far, so good.

We play  and I bake my mum a birthday cake.  Now, I know that she is not going to be able to eat it, being in the other hemisphere and all, but when we skype her later I thought it would be nice for the kids to sing happy birthday  around a cake.  That's the intention.  In reality, the banana cake is an epic fail.  I have to scrape it from the tin.  I have quite a knack because I manage to both undercook and burn it in parts.  I have clearly left my culinary prowess in the UK.  If anyone sees it, I want it back!  So, we buy a birthday cake.

Next Noah gets up and gets ready for his meeting and I try and keep Elwood from wiping his face / hands on Noah’s trousers – as he is prone to do.

Noah comes back and is happy with how his meeting went.  It was with an accessories brand looking to launch a t-shirt range in the first half of the year.  They are not ready to go yet, but they said they would expect to be in the next 4-6 weeks.  They also said for the pack design role for the accessories brand they had 400 applications in 2 days!  Holy Cow!  They said there are a lot of graphic designers on the Gold Coast.  Hmmmmmmmmm.

When Noah is out , Woody and I get cracking on 'transforming’ the house into a cinema.  We make signs for the ‘elwood cinema’ and set up a ticket office.  I make Woody a cinema workers hat (?) and he puts on his apron and he sits behind the counter and waits for customers.

Justin, Jennie, Shea and Skye are coming down and I think Woody is keen to charge them for admission.  Me too, really.

When they arrive Woody leaps into action welcoming them to the cinema, handing out tickets, and handing out non-3d glasses for the non-3d movie.  It is stinking hot and the kids dress up in the hottest fancy dress outfits  they can find – as kids do.

Justin and Jennie get ready for their wedding anniversary meal and Noah and I hang with the little people and skype the Mothership and Riley and Jayden.  The minute Mum is on the screen the kids go crazy.  We do not really get to chat to Mum, as we spend most of the time trying to make sure the kids do not hurt themselves too badly as they are throwing themselves around in front of the webcam.  Shea sings a lovely song for grandma, Elwood runs really fast on the spot with the face of a complete crazy and Justin does the rumpshaker.    Mum looks a bit confused.  We did manage to belt our happy birthday = so Mission Accomplished. Elwood licks the birthday cake and sticks his finger in it.  It really is chaotic.

Noah plays chauffer for the night and takes J and J to their meal, complete with ‘travellers’.  I make hot dogs, and make some very confused children line up and buy cinema tickets and ‘meal deals’.  It is pretty hilarious.

They sit and watch Brother Bear with their meal deals on their laps; hot dogs, water, grapes and popcorn.  They wear their sunnies for a bit and look super cute.

So, all doze off in front of the TV and the last littley gets into bed, just as justin and jennie need collecting.  So I make pizza for me and Noah, and Noah collects the happy couple.

Back at home, Justin and Jennie make me very jealous with talk of their meal of Mud Crabs and Chilli Bugs.  Noah does not say, but I think they make him feel a little sick with all the talk of sucking the meat from crab legs.

We sit around on the sofa, drinking and snacking, but mostly talking nonsense.  We make plans for a regular night out / babysitting exchange and feel very pleased with our selves

I try and write the blog but my eye lids are made of lead and I cannot stay awake. I go to bed and Noah stays up and does some work.

Good night lovely people.x
