Elwood’s hair is epic, apparently.

Today does not start quite as early as I had anticipated. I ambitiously set the alarm for 5am (really..) and I spring out of bed just before 8am. Could be worse.
I rustle up some brekkie, and should take Elwood out so Noah can get on with stuff, but I don't. I set up the direct debits on our accounts – so that is something off the list (at last..)
I then faff around for quite a while and then take Woody to the park, leaving Noah to design stuff. He climbs up the highest things he can find and yells for me when he gets stuck, and I untangle him from a load of ropes. This is mostly what we do at the park.
Elwood spots a climbing frame which is probably too old for him, being played on by kids much older than him – and decides that is where he is heading. He makes friends ; including a 16 year old and 14 year old and some younger ones. They are sitting in the shade at the top of the climbing frame chatting, and Woody keeps climbing up and sitting with them, trying to make conversation but mostly just grinning like a maniac. The older kids kind of give in, and include Woody a little bit, and they all want to high five him all the time. He loves it. I over hear them saying how 'epic’ elwood’s hair is. Elwood grins, he hasn’t a clue what they are talking about (me either, really).
We razz around in the park and watch the boats for a while, and then Woody refuses to put on more sunscreen and runs off. I am furious, and try and not look like a lunatic whilst chasing after him as he is heading out the park. I grab him, do the mum angry whisper, he agrees that this is not something he is going to do again. We move on. We go to the rockpools where Woody announces he is going to run off again and splash all the other kids. We discuss this, and he refuses to back down. So I take him home. 3 year olds are stubborn. Luckily, Mums are too.
Back at home, Woody has some lunch and stops acting like a crazy. Good. We watch some Shaun the Sheep, and he almost, almost falls asleep. But does not. Shame, he needs it.
Noah and Woody head out to the bike track whilst I cook some dinner and sort some of our change of address jobs. Pretty much the second they get in the car it starts raining.. They sit and listen to Finding Nemo audiobook and wait for the rain to pass. It does not. So Woody is back, no energy expended.
I get dinner on the table and Elwood decides he is going to eat like a lion. He licks his ‘paws’ between every bite of dinner. It is very strange to watch, but he eats all his dinner, so we let him do it. I am sensing that this was not a good idea.
We get Woody off to bed, with the obligatory trillion Mr Men Books before he goes to sleep. Noah discovers a great big spider in the lounge room and traps it under a glass after a bit of a tussle (of sorts). We torment the spider by making it pose for photos - it is an angry spider. We discuss what we might do with the spider now, and which one might be the first to forget about the spider and knock the glass over. Noah takes the spider outside and sets it free in a drain. I am out of practice, I do not know what to do with Spiders. I had so forgotten about the beasties.
We watch a movie called Sideways, and then we watch Boomerang, whilst we both tap, tap , tap on our keyboards. Me – emailing folk and Noah- designing stuff.
Oh, and we’ve also look into fun stuff to do in our area. There is so much it is unbelievable. Once the Christmas / new year weeks are over – everything gets back to normal and I plan to try loads of different things. Also, looking forward for activities for Woody starting up. He is super keen too – I think Noah and I are cramping his style. After all, he is epic.
I have not crossed enough stuff off the list – but we have both had a good shot at today. Very good indeed.
Good night good people . xxx
