So we made it to Stockholm, and the sun is shining - yay!!We arrived here yesterday, after spending a couple of nights chilling out in Karlstad, half way between Oslo and Stockholm. Whilst in Karlstad we stayed at First Camp, which was more a camp for holiday makers, as there was a fair bit to do on camp, like football pitches, a beach, mini golf and lots of things for kiddies! We did have a relaxing time there to get our energies back, and apart from losing badly on Crazy Golf (well unless you win if you take the most number of shots to pot the ball!!) we had a nice time and even had our best meal (well until our Spag Bol last night) at Ikea of all places - it was near the camp & we figured it was the same price as buying and cooking ourselves, just without the hassle!!

When we arrived at Bredangs Campsite, we were told to look for a pitch to the left with electricity and then go back to get the keys etc. Well, I was less than impressed when the only pitch left on that side was one next to the rubble where they are obviously building something new, especially when there were loads of nice ones the other side!!So we headed back to reception, Paul being crafty managed to get us on the posh side, with fancy dancy kitchen and shower blocks that are well plush compared to the tat on the other side - I was happy, and even got to watch the footy at the bar on camp!

We headed into Sockholm today, doing the whole touristy thing with our Stockholm Cards to get in free to things - but first priority was to arrange the ferry for Helsinki at the Port when we got into the centre - oh dear, we got a bit of a shock when we were told there were none available up until Tues (well that'd fit little Winnie that is!) - we were planning on leaving tomorrow!!Oh well, sorted now - getting on ferry at 7am Sun morning, but not to Helsinki, but to Turku, which should get there about 7 in the evening on Sun - so no panic, just spend an extra day in Stockholm on the beach, and up early Sun!!

We had a great day in Stockholm at the Aquarium and Open Air Museum, where we spent all our time at the Zoo, which was fab!!Oh my god got a little carried away with the pics though - I tend to take about 5 different ones of the same thing for some reason, yep can get quite annoying I think, but just can't help it!!The highlight of the day had to be the baboons getting a little jiggy right in front of us (little kids near us were all like 'oooh',and didn't really know were to look!) - was very funny, but unfortunately wasn't quick enough to take a piccie-damn!!The bear cubs were adorable, playing with each other, which we filmed for you, and the gorg peacock that couldn't stop showing off!Loved the aquarium also, seeing all the wierd and wonderful fish (and sharks!) - so all in all a good day in Stockholm!Loved the city as a whole - very cosmopolitan with all the trendy bars and restaurants by the harbour (which we onlooked while eating our pre-made sandwiches and water - boo), which just weren't really there in Oslo - I guess thats what you get with a bigger city tho!

To sum up Stockholm - best campsite we stayed at in terms of facilities (obviously only because we were on the posh side of camp - obviously be different otherwise!), but we found the Swedish were not as fluent in English as the Norweigens and stuggled at times to communicate!Very multi-cultural city, with a very cosmopolitan feel to the place!Lot sunnier than Norway, and slightly cheaper which were both a bonus!Lots of big blue boxes, also known as Ikea, dotted around the countryside & they definately like McDonalds here!!Very trusting nation, which we found by their border control getting into the country & leaving - not even stopped to show ID, and a simple 'Paul & Claire' seems will suffice as an ID check to board the ferry to Turku, Finland!!
