Woke up to, guess what?, more rain. But 9 am kayaking was still going to happen. At least for us. Nobody else showed up, which was great because we got ourselves a private guided trip. The rain stopped, the sun didn't come out, but the water was smooth as glass and there was not another person to be seen. However, we did see some loons, ospreys, porpoises (small dolphins), and perhaps a seal. Our guide was cool. About our age, does triathlons, and reminded us of Sara Hill. We had a good four hours of fun. Then we had a quick lunch, bought some blueberry wine, and went hiking along the rocky coast on the less traveled side of the island. Concluded our stay in Maine on a little piece of nature owned by the Nature Conservancy on the waters edge. Sat in some adirondack chairs, drank a bit of wine, listened to the loons and watched the evening set in. At dinner tried some crab cakes, saw our kayaking guide there, had a blueberry beer (lots of blueberries here and they put them in everything and everywhere) and came here to write to all of you (if anyone's out there) and then to play a game of scrabble and have coffee (check in later to see if Nick or Kara won, but since Nick won mini golf and air hockey, all you betting folks should lay your money down on Nick). even though kara can spell and she's smarter:) just not smart enough to win! Off to Canada we go! Hope to see those crazy police in red shirts, big hats and on horses, hear some people say a-boot, aye?....
