Read On at Klenske, Ink.

In case you haven't figured it out, we don't have a direct flight to San Jose, Costa Rica. Instead we have an overnight stop at Houston, Texas. And God damn, I didn't mess with it (for the record).

I was once told that Houston was the "armpit" of the USA. But since it was dark when we got there (and left) I don't feel as if I can give an honest opinion. But it was Texas. The airport was great, the hotel a little strange. I was able to get a free hotel night at the HoJo express from my travel points. Free hotel, free airport shuttle, free breakfast, sounded great. But the shuttle wasn't 'working' (Texan for the driver isn't around), the hotel was run by one crying woman talking about her husband falling off a balcony or something, and a crying pregnant girl who looked to be about midway into having the kid, at the HoJo, imagine that. Not to forget having to pay $30.00 for a cab ride to the hotel w/ a cabbie who didn't know where he was going and was mad at us for not being able to give him directions. But we had a room, a brief night of rest, and a shuttle to the airport in the morning. Oh, and they even drove us by a tourist attraction known for its American history: Haliburton! Besides, Kara nor I have ever been to Texas, so it's another state checked off the list.

Current score in the Race to 50 States:
Nick: 43
Kara: 40

Houston is an awesome city...who told you it was the armpit of the US???

Houston armpit? Yeah, that's about the dumbest thing I've ever heard, whoever told you that must have been mixing up Houston with Port Author or some similar podunk refinery town in East Texas.
