Well hello!

Well, I've been pretty busy since the last post. . . Except Saturday during the day.  I did nothing.  Nothing at all.  Woops, I was tired.

Before I go any further, I need peoples addresses so I can mail some post cards!  If you want a post card, holler at me with your address!  The more the merrier.

So we've been going out a decent amount, to clubs and bars and the likes.  Last night we found a bar very reminiscent of a college bar, but cheaper.  Beers for 10 yuan.  That's about $1.25.  We've also had some "interesting" experiences at clubs.  One guy inadvertently got a lap dance from a Chinese guy.   We thought it was funny.  The guy getting the lap dance did not.

We also made it to the Chinese circus on Sunday.  It was crazy.  The clowns doubled as acrobats and did some really cool stuff.  They also had lions, tigers and bears.  The bears did gymnastics.  No joke.  The lions and tigers were obviously mistreated, underfed and drugged.  I felt very bad for them.  I'm not sure if the whole humane treatment of animals idea has taken hold in China.

On Friday (sorry for jumping around so much chronilogically) we went to the Shanghai Museum.  It was great.  4 floors of Chinese art, artifacts and they actually had an exhibit from El Museo Prado in Spain.  Got to see some stuff from El Greco and Goya!  I split off from the group and wandered around a lot of the museum on my own.  It was nice.

One thing about Shanghai is that it has a lot of "interesting" smells.  You'll be walking down the street and some kind of rotting garbage smell will hit you right in the nostrils. It's a bit disconcerning.  Not gonna miss it!

Alright, I'm actually about to write another entry, so sorry for flooding inboxes a bit.

Send me your address for a postcard!

PS The wall street journal had a great article on the Special Olympics. Apparently China television is going to broadcast it to 500 million homes. Pretty big deal man, keep up the good work.
