Alright, well it's Friday, we've almost been here a week. Yesterday we got a tour of Fudan's campus. I really enjoyed it, it made me feel more at ease. All the sudden it's like, hey, we're on a college campus! It's really nice.
And it's kind of a communist haven, there is a HUGE sculpture of Mao Zedong and another of the guy who translated the Communist Manifesto into Chinese, on the campus. Chairman Mao is actually the first thing you see when you come in the main entrance. Crazy!
I bought 3 seasons of Lost on DVD for $2. And they work. So people are getting addicted to it. Woops! It's great though, we go pretty hard so it's something nice to enjoy during down time.
Today we planned a lot for traveling after the China program is over. It's looking like we are going to fly to the south of China and take a bus into Vietnam. Hit up Vietnam for about a week or so and then head into Cambodia. Cambodia for a week or so, on to Thailand. Around Thanksgiving, head to the Philippines to meet up with our good buddy Max. After that, back to Thailand for another week and a half or so. Woo. We're working on booking our way into Vietnam, and it looks like it won't be very expensive! Hooray!
Anywho, class is going well, learning bits and pieces of Chinese. Probably more than your average person, so that's exciting. This weekend we're hitting up Cheap Street. Knock off heaven! And then doing some fund raising for the Special Olympics Sat. night. Monday we get to go to an ancient village! Alright! More to come on those soon!
Love and misses. Ahaha, what a pun.
Drop me a line!
