Where I stayed
Manta Ray Resort

My 2nd resort, Manta Ray resort was much nicer - we had another huge dorm but with mosquito nets (yay!!) and with a lot more space - it was divided by partitions into lots of 4s, so although it was a dorm of about 40, it didnt feel so big. And i love sleeping under mosquito nets - its like having the princess canopies you get over your bed when you're 4! The dorm was set on a path with loads of palm trees and other such plants around, weaving up to the main bar and restaurant on the top of the hill which overlooked both sides of the island, so had amazing views of both sunset and sunrise.

The food was delicious - a vegetable soup to start, followed by roasted vegetables on a flatbreak with basil dressing, followed by a choice of about 4 options - i went for fresh fish of the day with mash potato and fressh vegetables which were lovely. After dinner we had a fijian dance show - 5 fijians wearing the grass around their ankles and doing traditional dances which was really good.

Also had brilliant news - my (amazing) parents managed to change my flights to get home sooner rather then spending 10 more days in Melbourne, so that really made my evening.

The next day was my birthday and I was hoping to swim with Manta Rays but none showed up which was disappointing. The resort did have internet though so i managed to access LOADS of birthday messages and emails which was so nice - and made me feel as little less far from home! Then had a lovely day sunbathing (on a lovely beach!) and chatting with a few girls i met before catching the Yasawa Flyer onto the next island in the afternoon - a shame, as i could have stayed there longer!
