Tues 29th

This mornings breakfast was a menu, not a buffet which put us all to pot, as we were due to leave the hotel (lampang weinglakor) at half 8 and we can ea a buffet brekky in 10 mins for maximum sleeping time, but we had to order food this morning. I had scrambled eggs on toast which was full of raw onion, so i only ate the toast anyway. We got away just on time but we hav our own mini buses now until the sleeper train back to Bangkok on fri, very nice leather seats, air con, leg room etc. 2 buses, 8 in each bus.
First stop was the elephant conservation centre! This was the best day so far. The elephants were so well trained, so clever, and just wondering around. Each elephant had its own trainer who rode about on their necks. The elephants would tilt their front leg on a side so the trainer person could use it as a step up onto their backs. We watched them bath n the lake, we fed them bananas which they loved! They were abit scary at first as they are sooo big but we got used to them soon enough. They blew water a us, they spotted at us, they even had the elephants painting pictures, this was amazing! You wouldn't believe it if you didn't see it! Pics to follow. Would have loved to have bought the pics as a souvenir as it was a lovely keep sake but they were a3 sheet and would have been ruined by the time we got bk to England. We did get a picture of us riding the elephants though which is fab. I was so scared they were going to roll over in the water with us on its back as they did that earlier when they wer being bathed. .. Bye bye iPad! Thankfully he was a good boy and only sprayed us. Haha. The ride itself was an adventure, through the forest, down the road, u a mountain (I did think we were going to tip off at this point!) the only problem when ur on top of an elephant is there is nowhere to run... Trust me to get a friggin spider running up my arm whilst on top of an elephant!!! Yuk! I screamed and had a slight spak attack to which the guy 'driving' the elephant found hilarious. I was slightly on edge for the res of the journey. It was only the size of a 50p but the lass behind us had a spider the size of our hand run up here leg! Shit the bed I would have died! Anyway moving on.. There was also a ele nursery, and a ele hospital. Saw a 18 day old baby ele, soooo cute!! It's little trunk was adorable! And also an orphan baby ele that was 4 mths old, very clever. His trainer thought him to trumpet by voice command only! So clever.
Anyway I could go on for ages but we did loads today and its already 12 so need to sleep soon..
Visited a pineapple plantation afterwards with thousands of pineapples, it was an amazing sight, but I was sure pineapples grew on tree's... Apparently not! They cut the spikey tops off the pineapples and planted these again t grow more fruit after they had been cut. Best pineapple I have EVER tasted.
Had 2 baby puppies running around too which were gorgeous!
The Visited the biggest lake in north thailand, was beautiful as the sun was setting over the mountains at the time so got sum fab pics. weird women selling birds in baskets there too.. see pics. Another 3 hrs and we arrived at chiang rai and checked in a our accomm for the night, diamond park inn. Seems very nice but bathroom tiny with shower just on the wall like a wet room... Only prob is the toilet is literally rite under the shower so everything gets absolutely soaked! Strange set up. Had steak in pepper sauce with fries for tea as getting abit bored of noodles and rice.. Bad move, steak was like a piece of leather and only got about 6 chips... Ah well, had a big lunch so was ok.
Think that's all for now.
