Off to Corsica

At  6am we are awoken by the noise of the hold door opening, followed by the thunder of a steady flow of cars coming on board. In spite of the dirty room and the small beds, we are happy we slept on board. This way the car was parked safely and we could sleep on both ears, knowing we wouldn't miss the boat.

After a quick and uneventfull breakfast in the self service restaurant, we go on deck and make ourselves comfortable in the deck chairs. We enjoy the morning sun, the buzzing of all the passengers coming on board, the view of the buzy port, ... our holiday is really starting now! 

At 08.15 am, right on schedule, the ferry leaves the dock and escorted by the harbour 'piloto' it heads to sea. We spend the crossing dozing in the sun, reading, ... being lazy.

4 hours later, we arrive in Bastia. The deboarding goes very smoothly and shortly after, we are on Corsican soil!
