Saigon as the city is known to most is larger than Hanoi but nowhere near as busy and exciting. So after arriving at 5.30am after a nervous 10 hour sleeping bus that involved a fight erupting between a traveller on our bus and the driver then wielding a meat clever to his head, we traipsed around for over an hour trying to find a reasonably priced hotel. We only stayed one night as there wasn't much exciting to see or do, but we did walk around the night market and go for cocktails at a sky bar similar to Vertigo in Bangkok although not as high but it still gave a great view of the city even if it was £10 a cocktail and we had to blag our way in wearing scruffy t-shirts and flip flops!
