The day got off to a bad start when after waiting for 1 hour our boat driver never came to meet us at the hostel at 7:40am as planned.

Really annoying because we really wanted to get to the popular island of Phi Phi Leh before it was too full of tourists.

We tried getting our hostel reception to call the boat company but the language barrier got in the way a bit.

In the end we went to the office we booked it and sorted the problem.

We found our boat and driver and got to the island about 9:30 over an hour later than we'd have liked but it was really nice having a private boat and driver and we was excited.

We stopped at an amazing beach called 'ma ya bay’ there was already a few tourists there but not too bad.

We sat on the beach and just stared at its beauty for a while then had a swim.

Very quickly this beach filled with boat after boat of tourists and the beach was packed with people taking photos, very annoying but we knew it would be busy it’s one of Thailand’s main tourists attractions since it was set location for the film ‘the beach’.

I found a nice hammock in the shade slightly away from the crowds and relaxed in it but soon enough people see me in the hammock and came over asking me if I could move so they could ‘make’ photo arghh!

We went to a little shack to get a bite to eat and later allot of the tourists had gone they only have 45 mins here on their package trips.

We relaxed and enjoyed the view a bit more then after 3 hours here we got back in the boat and headed out anti-clockwise round the island. We stopped in a little bay anchored up Louise and I jumped overboard for a snorkel.

Great snorkelling but very sad to see the vast damage to the coral caused by the tsunami.

An hour later we headed round the island a bit more to a big blue lagoon other boats were taking pictures of us in our little boat, this island is just so startlingly beautiful the water is astonishingly clear and the steep limestone cliffs full of trees make it so picturesque and with it being just me and Louise in our boat with our own driver doing what we want makes the day so flexible and relaxed.

The day easily became one of the most amazing days of the trip.

We swam in the lagoon for a while and found a small rope swing to play on.

Headed round the island a bit more to a bay called Viking bay which was full of caves and stalactites in the cliff face like something from a film and slightly spooky looking.

We then made another stop at another beach but there was lots of monkeys so didn’t stay long but I did find a small cliff to jump off for quick adrenaline fix.

I later dived off the boat for one last snorkelling spot. I followed lots of fish nibbling the coral it was really fun and i could hear the noise of them eating from the coral.

As the sun was on its way down we headed back to the main island Phi Phi Don we got off the boat said a big thanks to the driver Tae and gave him a tip.

We then went out for a nice candle lit dinner on the beach as the sun set.
